The San Francisco Regional Office of the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission has openings for attorney positions within the Office of Compliance Inspections and Examinations (OCIE) staff. Candidates should have at least 1 year post J.D. experience as a practicing attorney or possess a L.L.M., the ability to perform compliance examinations of investment advisers, investment companies and private funds, and the ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally. Duties of an OCIE attorney include participating in planning and conducting securities compliance examinations, developing reports of findings, and providing recommendations for examinations; and conducting research, review and analysis of a variety of documents related to investment adviser, private fund, and mutual fund examinations, and developing recommendations to resolve problems or issues encountered.
